Chamaerops Humilis – or heart of palm is a vegetableharvested from the inner core and growing bud of certain palm trees. The palmetto is white, soft with a flexible texture, rich in fibers. It has a very special subtle flavor, crunchy and compact, but at the same time soft. Heart of palm may be eaten on its own, and often it is eaten in a salad.
